                   LEGAL ARIZONA WORKERS ACT (HB 2779 )
If you are an Arizona business owner or employer and don't know about this new law, you could be in for a rude awakening on January 1st, 2008. This law strictly prohibits employers from intentionally or knowingly hiring undocumented workers. Employers will be required to verify their employees' legal status to work in the United States. The law includes stiff penalties for violators which include:

1st Offense - Suspension of business license from 3-10 days

2nd Offense - Permanent revocation of all licenses that are necessary to conduct business in the state of Arizona
